lyrics
To connect another day to that long list of hours passed
I rely on time when I don't want to get so lost
Light has spoken
The eyes aren't broken
My only thought alarmed me
That I don't want to see another day
Left on my own I'm too occupied to go out walking with a friend
And the knowing ain't the need to mend
Step aside
It's my pride that won't defend against the end
Because there is no end
The maladjusted inherit nothing, not even the earth
Away, we want to be
Alone and slacking
Almost the center of our world
I plan to grab the axe to break the mold
While I scream
But, I bet I'll find that the hatchet is just too dull
And then comes love
It peeled away the wrong escape
I feel the sun
I'll stand and testify
But no other one can heal you
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
Just awesome. Thanks for the Sharrock cover. One of my favorite songs on one of my favorite albums. Really looking forward to Big Ears this year! casarojo
