lyrics
A panic sets and we decide to
Burn this town
You find a minute to collect yours
No one's found
Then I gotta get away
3 sheets to the wind
Oh the silence
Education in the wrong hands
Blame the state
Re-calibration of the payout
Sealed their fate
But everybody gets away
Their backs to the wind
Oh the sight of this rote and idle dissent
Blissfully wade through the sound of our bones now crushed into dust
like the dreams of a home
Destined to say... No no no I don't care
Reactions aren't sanctioned if you're sitting don't stand
I say you...
See no
Evil
You must
Be so essentially broken to feel so safe
The population is against us
Faced with rage
The hesitation to accept all
The truths we've saved
Still makes no sense
All false expressions
No on the fence
But leaned against it
They feel no...
pain
True gains....
Will not...
Be felt when no one complains
Blissfully stride through the sound of their lies now crushed into
dust like the hills and the skies
Effectively state ... No no no I won't care
Complacent to rot amongst the shit and despair
I say you must...

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer

Another politically charged punk EP in 2016? Yeah. This could've been horrible, but instead it manages to be great. It seems that J. Robbins can always manage to get amazing musicians together to create great music with him. The female vocals are sick too. Feels like early pixies. needsmorerage
The Philadelphia group sharpen their hooks and internal dyanmics for a fun and non-dorky take on power pop anyone can get behind. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 26, 2024
